Battalion Chief Barklage was the first member of the original 39 employees to serve the full 30 years.  Over the years Chief Barklage has greatly influenced the advanced procedures and protocols that the City of Fairfax and the Northern Virginia Region operate on.  Chief Barklage worked his last day on February 27, 2008 followed by a retirement luncheon on February 28th.  Chief Barklage also attended a surprise retirement party at Hard Times Café on Saturday, March 1st.  Congratulations to Chief Barklage and we wish him a long and healthy retirement!
