After conducting our semi-annual ISU checkout, Rescue Engine 433 was pulling onto the front ramp of the firehouse when communications dispatched an MVA on I-66 EB prior to I-495. This brought Rescue Engine 433(Jeckell) as the Rescue Squad. Tower Ladder 430 arrived on the scene with a corrected location of I-66 EB between I-495 and Rt. 7 and established the "I-66 Command." After investigating the two vehicle MVA, Command reported “one semi-conscious patient trapped and the Rescue Engine will make quick work of this.” Shortly thereafter the Rescue Engine arrived and went to work stabilizing the vehicle and deploying the tools. Rescue Engine 433 made short work of the extrication by removing the driver's door utilizing the Hurst ML32 spreader and MOC Cutter. Units took up and the patient was transported by Medic 402 to Fairfax ER.
