During the A Shift birthday dinner with Amanda (one of our local muscular dystrophy kids) they were alerted to a fire at the Hampton Inn on Fairfax Boulevard. Medic 433 arrived with smoke showing from the 5th floor. As units reached the 5th floor they encountered a mattress off in a room that was being renovated. Additional units were added to assist with the evacuation and smoke removal. Battalion 443 (Hendelman) had Fairfax Boulevard Command.
