While the City Police were investigating a property damage only accident they smelled smoke.  Well, what they didn’t know is a metal sign post had gone under the car, bent 90 degrees, gone 3 feet into the passenger compartment, hit a bolt on an electrical line and ignited the batteries located in the rear of the car.  Police stated as they heard the sirens the car “flashed.”  Units operated for just under twenty minutes.
