FOAM ENGINE 403 HAS ARRIVED

October 13, 2007

The City of Fairfax Fire Department’s newest piece of apparatus is at Singer and should be placed in service during the month of November.  Foam Engine 403 is a 2007 Pierce Dash pumper with a 2000 gpm pump, a husky 30 foam system, a 625 gallon water tank and a 300 gallon foam tank.  The unit is equipped with all the standard Class A pumper equipment, ALS gear, RIT gear and foam equipment.

The unit will be logged on to CAD as FE403 and will be dispatched as an Engine for all responses that E403 would be due on.  When running as an Engine it will be referred to as “Engine 403” on the radio.  On calls requiring a Foam Unit response it will be dispatched as Foam Engine 403 and referred to on the radio as “Foam 403.”

This unit will be replacing the City of Fairfax’s Fire Departments dedicated Foam Unit and a 1986 Pierce pumper that has been assigned to training.
