Just after noon E402 and TL430 were alerted for an alarm bells call in Box 219 on the north side of Vienna. While enroute they were notified this would be a working fire and the box was filled for a residential building fire. This brought city units T403(Dunstan) as the 2nd truck, RE433(Schumacher) as the squad, and BC443(Ahrens) as the 2nd Chief. E402 marked on scene with fire showing from side "C" and smoke throughout. E402 advised they were stretching a 1 3/4 line through the front door. Due to the large volume of fire and its progression from the 1st floor to the attic, command advised all units to exit the structure. The crews from the Rescue Engine and Truck began to throw ladders and vent to facilitate the evacuation process. After all crews were out and accounted for, command advised TL430 to utilize their ladder pipe. After the bulk of the fire was extinguished T403 and RE433 were tasked with opening up the void spaces and extinguishing any remaining hidden fire. This was completed without problems and City units cleared just after 3 hours. BC443 had Division Charlie.
