- Around 2000 this evening Rescue Engine 433 was dispatched to assist Engine 434 on an unusual public service call. A subject had taken a set of police handcuffs and very tightly applied them to one wrist. - As with many of the skill sets fire department personnel are taught, swift water training required regular skill refreshers. This month all swift water rescue personnel in the City of Fairfax Fire department have taken a trip to Oak Mar pool to practice some of the skills. - Firefighter Zachary Taylor "Zach" Whitacre, 21, of Gore, VA, died in the Line of Duty on Feburary 13, 2012 as result of an apparatus crash. Zach was born on November 13, 1990 in Winchester, VA.
