Rescue Engine Extricates One at Fairfax Circle
JANUARY 06
- After completing an extrication on I495 earlier in the day RE433 along with M433 and units from Fairfax County were dispatched to 9605 Fairfax Boulevard near Fairfax Circle around 2330 for a report of a vehicle over turned with a subject possibly trapped. RE433 Extricates One On The Beltway
JANUARY 06
- Just before lunch, RE433(Speakes) was alerted to respond as the Rescue Company to the outer loop of the Capital Beltway for an MVA with entrapment. E430 arrived on the scene shortly thereafter and found an SUV that had impacted the rear of a tractor trailer, with the driver of the SUV trapped. DONATE BLOOD TO HELP BURNED FDNY BROTHER

- The City of Fairfax Fire Department is sponsoring a Blood Drive for a FDNY firefighter who was severely burned last week. There is a need for O- blood for a Firefighter from (Rescue 2-FDNY). He is being treated for extensive burns he received at a dwelling fire in Brooklyn NY. Please help us help him with donating blood. Mayor Lederer Not Returning

- Mayor Lederer announced last week that he will not be seeking re-election next year. Mayor Lederer served a number of years as a Councilman in the 1980's and returned in 1998, until he was first elected Mayor in 2002. "A-Shift" Celebrates Christmas
DECEMBER 25
- A-Shift celebrated christmas at the firehouse. Family and friends were invited to join in for christmas dinner, and "thieves xmas". Dinner was uninterupted and a great time was had by all. Special thanks goes out to Melanie(Rhoads) and Jessica(Stefanson) for baking deserts, our volunteer staff who helped provide for a delicious dinner, and those memebers who worked trade to allow their fellow brethren ... Battalion 443 Goes to Work
DECEMBER 10
- At 0030 on Saturday December 10th, city units were dispatched to a working fire at the Shell gas station on Lee Hwy and Jermantown Rd. Additional units from the Fairfax Co were also dispatched and found a working fire in the garage bay. Units knocked down the bulk of the fire and quickly went to work checking for extension. The Nearly Naked Mile

- Coming up on November 12 is the First Running of the Nearly Naked Mile around the Reston Town Center in Reston, Virginia.
